Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced nursing educator to build and lead an undergraduate nursing program (B.S.N.) at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Qualifications/Requirements:

DNP or PhD with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing education at the undergraduate level. Current Indiana nursing license. Knowledge and experience with course and curriculum development, educational leadership, accreditation, and licensure processes are required. Applicants must demonstrate a strong sense of vision, a commitment to student learning, and the ability to work collaboratively within the complex and evolving field of higher education.

Duties:

The Chief Nursing Education Officer will have primary responsibility for the development and launch of an undergraduate nursing program (B.S.N.) at Purdue University Fort Wayne. During academic year 2025-2026 critical tasks include: revise previous PFW nursing curriculum to align with current accreditation standards; guide curriculum through internal approval processes; create all necessary documents for program approval by the Purdue University Board of Trustees, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, and the Indiana State Board of Nursing; develop and submit all necessary paperwork associated with the application for accreditation through CCNE; identify and hire the necessary faculty to deliver the B.S.N curriculum with a target launch of August 2026; identify and secure laboratory and simulation equipment; and collaborate with admissions and marketing to recruit first class of students. Upon successful launch of the nursing program, the position will transition to Chair of the Department of Nursing within the College of Science.
