Computer Technician IX - Information Technology Services - Fort Wayne

Job Summary


Information Technology Services is seeking a Computer Technician IX (Classroom Support Lead) with the following responsibilities:


  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex technology problems for end users
  • Serve as classroom technology subject matter expert (SME) and provide information in order to resolve complex issues
  • Assess problems and identify and implement corrective solutions
  • Direct team members, as needed
  • Receive and respond to incoming trouble tickets, pages and/or emails that relate to reported problems
  • Perform follow-up analysis of problem reports and communicate lessons learned to team members
  • Provide assistance, when needed, to other members of the End User support team in solving complex technology problems


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum four years experience working with personal computers including configuration and software installation and analyzing, evaluating and resolving computer system problems
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks while maintaining excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of PC, network applications and software packages
  • Ability to research problems and solutions with vendor support sites and department documentation
  • Must be able to work independently, while being a member of a very active team
  • Must like working with multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to effectively direct the work of others




  • Two-year computer or technical degree in computer related field
