Custodian

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- General daily cleaning duties including, but not limited to: dusting and wet mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, removing trash, cleaning partitions, walls, windows, tables, black/white boards, etc.
- Areas to be cleaned include, but are not limited to: classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells, hallways, elevators, etc.
- Ensure restrooms maintain adequate supplies including towels and soap.
- Perform operation of basic cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
- Non-routine cleaning duties, including, but not limited to: stripping and refinishing floors, scrubbing floors, cleaning carpets, vents and waste cans, and changing accessible light bulbs, etc.
- Informing supervisor of needed repairs for equipment and facilities.
- Shovel snow at building entrance areas.
- Assist with setting up tables and chairs for special events.
What are the position essentials required as a Custodian?
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders.
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
