The day to day work:
- Respond to daily work orders and other requests for the pinning of locks, repair of lock cylinders, cutting of keys.
- Respond to daily work orders and other requests to repair and/or replace door hardware and mechanisms.
- Respond to daily work orders and other requests for hanging campus banners.
- Respond to other maintenance needs through-out campus.
- Make recommendations for equipment and repair part purchases.
- Attend training to keep current with changing technology advances.
- Assist maintenance mechanics, grounds and other Facilities Management co-workers in performing a variety of tasks based on departmental needs.
Why we'll love you:
- You’ve worked hard to gain a High School Diploma or GED.
- You have least three years of Locksmith experience along with one year of commercial Locksmith experience.
- You have experience repairing and repining lock cylinders and master keying and key cutting; repairing and replacing door hardware and mechanisms; general building maintenance; mechanical, electrical, plumbing and preventive maintenance.
- You have a general knowledge of master keying systems, door hardware, mechanisms and be able to master pin lock cylinders.
- You must be able to move 25 to 50 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
- You must have the ability to work at various heights on ladders, bucket trucks, etc.
- You must have a valid driver’s license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy.
- The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 2:30pm.
