Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as Assistant Women's and Men's Track and Field Coach reporting to the Head Cross Country/Track and Field Coach at our Hammond, IN campus
  • Assist head coach in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the track and field/cross country programs.
  • Assist the head coach with the recruiting, academic oversight, fundraising, social media and coordinating of camps and coaching clinics. 
  • Maintain knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced ensuring compliance relative to those applicable duties

Education of Assistant Track and Field Coach

  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness or related program is preferred.

Experience of Assistant Track & Field Coach

  • Two years of track and field coaching experience required at the professional or college level.
  • Experience with throwing events, pole vault, jumping events, or distance preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in program development, management, and leadership
  • Ability to interact with members of the public and media
  • Ability to supervise temporary staff
  • Understanding of the student-athletes' commitment to academics
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. occasionally. 
  • As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced ensuring compliance relative to those applicable duties.
