Overview
Purdue University Northwest is seeking to hire a graduate assistant to assist with oversight of their NCAA Compliance program in Hammond, IN. Responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of PNW’s NCAA Division II Compliance program.
Position provides tuition remission to the university’s graduate program of choice and stipend, housing not included. Preferred start date is July, 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting with the rules education program
- Research NCAA Division II information regarding interpretations and file documents accordingly
- Compliance Software maintenance (i.e. student-athlete forms, recruiting activities, CARA, coding etc.)
- Playing and practice season review
- Monitoring and reviewing rosters
- Documenting Sport Sponsorship Reporting and Participation
- Reviewing social media
- Name, Image and Likeness monitoring and education
- Abide by all written policies, procedures and guidelines of Purdue Northwest, the Department of Athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations
- Data entry (must be proficient with Microsoft Office)
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- Must be accepted and enrolled into an accredited graduate program at PNW
Core Competencies
- Must be a self-starter with a desire and willingness to learn NCAA compliance
- The position will be designed to provide the candidate with first-hand experience working with NCAA Division II Bylaws and processes in an environment that is conducive to immersion in the day-to-day workings of a Division II school
- Integrity; as well as mature, respectful, professional engagement and demeanor with student-athletes and University personnel is a must
