Overview of Grant Writer
Purdue University Northwest (PNW) seeks a Grant Writer for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) https://www.pnw.edu/research/research/sp/ to assist in the University's efforts to promote and increase external research and program funding. This position is a full-time position and reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Commercialization and Research.
Duties and Responsibilities of Grant Writer
- Research, develop, write, and copy edit competitive, technical/ non-technical external grant proposals/applications
- Facilitate timely submission of grant proposals through ORSP
- Maintain current knowledge of federal/state/foundation rules & regulations and also terms & conditions of the grants
- Assist with all aspects of development and packaging of grant proposals to external funding agencies through interpreting and ensuring compliance with RFP/RFA requirements and guidelines
- Prepare and submit reports to sponsors

Education of Grant Writer
- Requires a Bachelor's degree
Experience of Grant Writer
- Minimum 2 years of multidisciplinary grant writing experience and track record with state, federal and foundation grants
Core Competencies of Grant Writer
- Knowledge of using grant searching database and electronic research administration portals (Grants.Gov; Research.Gov)
- Experience with MS Office suite and Adobe applications
