Job Summary


Become a New Student Orientation Leader/Ambassador!

New Student Orientation (NSO) Leaders/Ambassadors are essential to the success of Purdue University Northwest (PNW). Students selected for this position will promote PNW and build relationships with prospective students and families, faculty, staff and community leaders and in addition will be expected to communicate with newly admitted students and families. Knowledge and execution of PNW Campus tours are also required.

NSO Leader/Ambassador you will develop leadership and organizational skills, while gaining experience in public speaking and assisting the Office of Admission with on campus events. This position will also increase your knowledge of the campus from a historical and factual perspective.

Key Requirements

  • Must be willing to commit to serving as an OL for a minimum of one academic year
  • Must be available to work all, but not limited to Admissions/Recruitment events re: New Student Orientation, Open Houses, and various campus events related to Student Life.
  • Must attend mandatory training sessions
  • Willingness to participate in a minimum of two volunteer events each semester is recommended
  • Must be currently admitted as a PNW student
  • Must be enrolled in classes during the fall and spring semesters
  • Must maintain a minimum of Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills and an enthusiasm for Purdue University Northwest
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations showcasing ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. You may be asked to work events other than just your home campus


Must be a PNW student.
