Job Title:  Student - Community Counseling Center Graduate Assistant

Job Summary

The Community Counseling Center Graduate Assistantship is a 10-hour per week student position. The Community Counseling Center Graduate Assistant (GA) is responsible for the maintenance of a safe, welcoming, and organized clinical environment for community members and student interns. The GA is supervised and reports to the Community Counseling Center manager, with appropriate additional tasks delegated by Counseling Faculty members.

 

Pay:

  • $18.00/hour

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for potential clients and community members at the front desk
  • Organize and maintain electronic filing systems used in clinic operations
  • Complete telephone screening of potential clients, including making appropriate community referrals as needed
  • Provide clinical presence for interns holding in-person sessions (i.e., assisting in room acquisition, preparing materials for session, bringing clients into waiting area)
  • Greet students and faculty as they arrive for class
  • Assist in additional tasks as delegated by the Counseling Center Manager or Counseling Faculty

Education

  • Current PNW Graduate Student enrolled in Counseling or Couples & Family Therapy

Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to execute ethical decision-making and judgment in attending to the needs of potential and current clients at the Community Counseling Center
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating system, Google Calendars, and Outlook email system
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues requiring urgent or immediate attention to the appropriate manager or supervisor
