Title:  Annual Giving Coordinator, Office of Development

Job Summary

Coordinate all functions of the PNW annual giving program, which entails direct mail and electronic solicitations, database segmentation and related marketing efforts. Coordinate the production of appeals, digital and print from initial conception in collaboration with development colleagues and work with marketing and communication and outside vendors on design, printing, and mailing. Concentration is focused specifically on unrestricted gifts from PNW alumni, friends, parents, and faculty/staff that may progress to major gifts.

Responsible for cultivating and overseeing relationships with existing donors and new prospects, focusing on securing individual gifts up to $5,000. Manage a portfolio of annual giving prospects soliciting and closing gifts that may lead to major gifts. 

In collaboration with the Donor Communications Coordinator, manage the annual giving and stewardship calendar and keep track of annual fund progress including numbers of donors and dollars raised. Use database tools to analyze other data like donor retention, appeal ROI, and set annual giving goals and develop and analyze monthly dashboard of fundraising metrics. Oversee PNW's telephone fundraising and stewardship initiative through Purdue University's Rally Line operation. Ensure PNW fact dashboard is continually updated; analyze reports and closely track progress as part of overall annual giving goal through Rally Line.

Serve as the annual giving facilitator for university-wide fundraising campaigns including PNW Day of Giving and PNW License Plate campaign. Responsible for coordinating all fundraising and communication efforts for PNW Day of Giving. Work with institution's major gift and development officers to raise funds and marketing and communications staff to design mail pieces and promotional materials.

Prospect identification-target potential prospects for development officers moving annual donors through the donor pyramid into the next giving level. Make creative connections between and among people, events, programs, and their respective giving circles including exploring opportunities for Chancellor's Circle members to create pipeline for major gifts.

Utilize the CRM platform for philanthropy and e-commerce as it relates to soliciting annual giving prospects, increasing donor and alumni engagement and elevating fundraising efforts. Support the Office of Development by performing all other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies

Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, planning, communication, organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines while keeping team members and supervisor informed of progress.  Willingness and ability to learn software tools and development software quickly. High level of technology abilities and experience with multiple software platforms preferred.  Must have excellent high caliber writing skills as well as possess key technical capabilities to ensure successful delivery of communication pieces.  Must possess creative thinking skills and the ability to create strategic solicitations that engage and inspire donors to donate to the University.  Must have strong project management skills.  Must function proactively, strategically and always be forward-thinking.  Ability to travel and perform duties some evenings and weekends. 

Education

Bachelor's degree

Experience

1 year of fundraising experience.  Annual giving, phone-a-thon, digital and print appeal experience is preferred.
