Job Summary

Purdue University Northwest (PNW), a premier metropolitan university, invites nominations and applications for a  collaborative,  team-oriented leader to serve as its next Provost & Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Provost & Vice Chancellor reports to the Chancellor and provides a vision for a division that seeks to support and educate students in a campus environment where students can develop and succeed academically, intellectually, and personally.  The Provost will drive academic invocation, ensure high-quality academic programs, and provide visionary strategic leadership.

Qualifications:

The Provost & Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will help lead a campus focused on strategic change and will assist the Chancellor with the vision he has launched to continue building quality academic programs and learning experiences that will excite students and faculty engaged in the transformation of the university.  The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A terminal degree in a recognized academic discipline with an accomplished record in teaching and scholarship;
  • Credentials eligible for an appointment as professor in one of the academic departments at Purdue Northwest;
  • An extensive track record of achievement in academic administration and progressive administrative responsibility;
  • A record of commitment to engaging in shared governances;
  • Experience in managing human resources and a strong understanding of budget management;
  • Experience in using assessment for quality improvement and a track record;
  • Experience in developing a positive campus culture and a proven record of supporting diversity and inclusion in a higher education setting;
  • A record of securing external funds;
  • Experience enhancing a global perspective and international opportunities in teaching and scholarship on campus.
  • Visionary leadership in a student-centered environment and experience working to promote student success and foster a student-first philosophy;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; and
  • An understanding of the changing landscape within higher education and the ability to shape a vision for how PNW can impact the students and communities it serves.
