Job Summary

The School of Education and Counseling is seeking applicants for two Visiting Professors with expertise in Education: Elementary Generalist to begin August 2024.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

The School of Education and Counseling invites applicants with a master’s degree or doctorate degree in Education from an accredited program to apply.  Applicants must be credentialed or credential-eligible, in Indiana preferably as an Educator.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Education Preparation program area and will be expected to (a) teach undergraduate courses within the education program at both campuses (Westville, IN & Hammond, IN); (b) cultivate and maintain relationships with supervisors in community schools; (c) participate in beneficial service to the school, college, university, community, and profession.

 

Required Experience

  • Minimum five years of experience in teaching
  • Demonstrated experience as a successful educator
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds

The School of Education and Counseling is accredited by the State of Indiana and is nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).  The Counseling Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs are accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
