Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:

We are currently seeking a 4th Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach in our Athletics department. The 4th Assistant Women's Basketball coach will assist in the development and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program. The pay for this position is $26,999.99 annually.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the running of practices and practice content.      
    • Lead drills according to plan.
  • Reinforce and uphold team rules; behavior guidelines and expectations consistent with university, NCAA and Athletic Department policies.
  • Create and foster an environment that promotes the overall health and welfare of student-athletes.
  • Recruit and retain practice players and managers.
    • Manage daily attendance and roles for each.
  • Manage team analytics.
    • Teach and lead managers with taking, keeping, and logging practice and game stats.      
    • Analyze data and communicate to staff via weekly.
    • Team video management.
    • Assist in compiling and managing team film.
    • Manage distribution of film to other coaches.
    • Assist with clipping and tagging of film.
    • Organize and prepare film for team meetings.
    • Organize and prepare film for player development / individual meetings.
    • Collect, organize and maintain clips for video playbook.
    • Collect, organize and maintain clips for video dictionary.
  • Assist with opponent scouting
  • Prepare, organize and present opponent scouting report to team
  • Manage software used to present film and date to team
  • Breakdown scout effectiveness post game
  • Assist with daily scheduling and logistics
  • Coordinate with other staffs on facility availability
  • Coordinate with DOBO on any on campus recruiting activities
  • Support and promote the Athletic Department’s mission, values and principles at public relations functions on campus and in the community. 
  • Participate in development activities under the direction of the Director of Athletics and/or Head Coach in conjunction with efforts of the Office of Advancement.
  • Assume temporary administrative roles as required/needed by the Athletic Department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, searches, committees as requested.
  • Actively participate and assist in the evaluation of and formulation of departmental policies as requested.
  • As requested, work with marketing to create positive publications benefiting your team, the Athletic Department and the general campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 0-1 year of coaching experience.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends consistent with D1 NCAA schedule.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA DI rules, fundamentals, techniques, and rules of sport.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to assist with recruiting under highly selective academic and athletic standards as requested.
  • Ability to assist in the assessment of athletic skills and instruct athletes in techniques of sport as requested.
  • Ability to assist in the develop game strategies as requested.
  • Knowledge of video editing software and current on available technology.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Collegiate DI level coaching experience, knowledge of NCAA DI rules and some recruiting experience.
  • Experience in video management skills, editing and creative abilities preferred.
