Job Summary
The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in civil engineering starting in August 2025.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a Doctorate degree in civil engineering, or closely related field, with focus on geotechnical engineering. This position will require teaching and research. The successful candidate will teach courses such as but not limited to geotechnical, soil mechanics, foundation, and civil engineering materials. Applicants for the position are required to have a strong commitment to teaching and to provide classroom and laboratory instruction. In addition, the candidate shall have the ability to establish and sustain an active research program in the area of geotechnical engineering and to attract external funding that leads to publications in scholarly journals. Candidates are also expected to participate in service activities at the academic, professional, and/or community levels. A professional engineering license or the potential to obtain one is highly desirable.
