Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:

We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in Athletics. This position will develop and implement sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for 14 DI intercollegiate programs. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the strength and conditioning program, including the budget, equipment, coordination of weight room scheduling, and implementation/supervision of team workouts.
• Provide proper instruction on techniques.
• Chart and analyze student-athlete performance data in order to evaluate effectiveness of each program.
• Communicate and consult with head coaches and sports medicine staff regarding training programs.
• Assist in the regular cleaning and maintenance of the athletic weight room.
• Hire, supervise, educate and advise graduate assistants, student assistants, and professional staff on performance-related issues as those positions are added to the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science or related field.
• 1 year of experience providing advanced training in exercise physiology and athletic performance at the intercollegiate or professional level.
• Certification as a "Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist" (CSCS from NSCA) or equivalent certification required.
• Must be able to move up to 80 pounds frequently; up to 100 pounds on occasion.
• Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree.
• 2-3 years’ experience.
