Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a Lecturer in Chemistry position beginning August 2026. Full time teaching (12 credit hours per semester) responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lectures and labs in general chemistry as well as upper-level inorganic chemistry. Faculty are expected to participate in student advising as well as service to the department and university. The position is contingent upon available funding and a satisfactory background check.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must provide evidence of effectiveness in teaching undergraduate courses and labs in general chemistry and inorganic chemistry. A Ph.D. (preferred) or Master’s degree in chemistry with specialization in inorganic chemistry is required. Department programs include an ACS certified Chemistry undergraduate degree along with a relatively new bachelor’s degree program in Biochemistry, with 70-80 undergraduate majors total. Departmental focus is for providing students with high-quality educational experience complete with high-impact practices such as research and professional development opportunities.
