Overview

The Division of Institutional Advancement (IA) at Purdue University Northwest is seeking a highly motivated and mission-driven graduate-level student to join our dynamic team. This position will support key functions in development, engagement, and alumni outreach. The role focuses on enhancing the donor and alumni experience through both digital and in-person engagement strategies, helping to build and strengthen meaningful relationships with PNW supporters.

This position plays a vital role in helping IA achieve its annual and major giving goals while deepening engagement with alumni and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and aligned with PNW’s mission, with the ability to engage constituents in a personalized and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with CRM management, including data entry, tracking engagement, and managing volunteer records.
  • Attend alumni and donor events as assigned by IA staff.
  • Support event planning and setup for alumni and donor functions.
  • Conduct preliminary research on prospective alumni, donors, and corporate partners using IA tools and platforms.
  • Analyze and organize data to identify engagement and cultivation opportunities.
  • Utilize digital tools—such as social media, video conferencing, and email marketing—to build relationships, steward donors, and solicit support.
  • Execute consistent monthly and quarterly communication touchpoints, including outreach through tools like Marketing Cloud and Blackthorn.
  • Provide support for event outreach and follow-up efforts, which may include occasional evenings or weekend work.
  • Create digital stewardship reports for key donors and corporate partners.
  • Coordinate projects and complete additional tasks as assigned.

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program at PNW
  • Enrolled in an advanced program of graduate-level study at Purdue Northwest, with a preference for MS Technology, MBA, MS in Computer Science preferred 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and related platforms (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Blackthorn) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in philanthropy, alumni engagement, or nonprofit development.

Additional Information

  • Open to all majors.
  • Must be a PNW Graduate Student. GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • This position is tuition reimbursement as well as monthly stipend.
  • This position is in person and on the Hammond Campus.
