Job Summary

The Leadership and Culture Graduate Assistant for the Office of Student Life will report to the Director of Student Life and will execute leadership and cultural programming as well as other administrative tasks, office- or event-related, as needed. The Graduate Assistant must be incredibly detail-oriented, well-organized, reliable, have an elevated understanding of the MyPNWLife platform, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google, and other technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for leadership and cultural events, programs, and trainings, including tracking attendance and developing presentations
  • Compile and distribute the information via social media and campus emails
  • Helps Director of Student Life to build, plan, and facilitate leadership trainings, training resources, RSO trainings, and leadership workshops
  • Works with Director of Student Life, and campus partners, to ensure programming and resources and policies are kept up to date
  • Monitors Office of Student Life email account daily, responds to inquiries, or delivers inquiries to the appropriate team member
  • Monitors Office of Student Life main phone line, and directs incoming calls and voicemails
  • Monitors Office of Student Life main email account and directs to the appropriate team member
  • Greets Office of Student Life visitors, respond to inquiries, and help trouble shoot matters of confusion or concerns
  • Performs other administrative tasks as needed, which may include but are not limited to writing correspondence, reserving event space, placing orders for food or supplies, answering phones and message taking, filing, data entry, photocopying, delivering mail or other supplies across campus, compiling data, reports, and spreadsheets for assessment
  • Assist with other Student Life events, set-up, main event, and take-down, as needed

Education

Qualifications

  • Must be a currently registered PNW graduate student and have demonstrated knowledge of the PNW campuses, services, resources, etc. or the ability to quickly learn upon being hired
  • Must demonstrate high-level customer service, written and verbal communication skills, organization skills, creative problem-solving skills, strong customer service demeanor, and the ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MyPNWLife, Microsoft Office, Google, and ability to quickly learn new technologies and platforms for regular office use (Unitime, Catertrax, Docusign, etc)
