Purdue University Northwest's College of Nursing invites applications for the full time academic position of Clinical Assistant Professor for an academic year appointment starting August 17, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Use evidence-based approaches to teaching in classroom and healthcare settings for the undergraduate program.
- Contribute to curriculum development and revision.
- Participate in university, professional, and community service.
- Engage in clinical practice.
- Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and education.
Education
- Earned master's degree in nursing
- Earned doctorate in nursing (DNP) or (PhD) preferred
Experience
- Exceptional, experienced based subject matter, expertise in Medical Surgical Nursing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated teaching or precepting experience.
- Commitment to life-long learning and eagerness to serve students.
- Candidates with clinical, classroom teaching, simulation and online teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

College Profile
The College of Nursing offers undergraduate degrees including a traditional BSN, second degree accelerated BSN, and an online RN to BSN. We offer several MSN options including two advanced practice roles (family nurse practitioner and adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist) and two advanced online specialties (nurse educator and nurse executive). Our post-master's DNP program has a focus on translation science.
