Position Profile
The College of Engineering and Sciences (CES), Purdue University Northwest (PNW) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer in Computer Science, beginning Fall 2026. We seek highly motivated candidates with strong computer science education credentials who can teach computer programming at introductory and intermediate levels, and ideally with a breadth of knowledge and ability to instruct in other areas such as data structure, operating system, discrete mathematics, computer architecture, networking, database, software engineering, artificial intelligence, or other specialty areas that support Department priorities.
Qualifications
- A M.S. in Computer Science (or ABD), or a related discipline is required by August 3, 2026.
- Demonstrated strength in or strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions.
- Exhibit evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Teaching assigned courses in computer science program. Developing courses for the traditional classroom setting and computer labs and continually updating the curriculum.
- Evaluating, and advising students, and contributing to the recruitment and marketing of the program. Serving as a member of campus, school, department and program committees.
- Engaging in scholarly activity related to teaching. Maintaining current knowledge and skills in the computer science profession through active participation in professional organizations, collaboration, and practice.

School & Department
The College of Engineering and Sciences (CES) serves undergraduate students and graduate students across a wide range of academic programs. The college includes Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Physics, Mathematics/Statistics, and the School of Engineering.
PNW’s School of Engineering within CES comprises three departments: Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Closely affiliated with the School are two distinguished and award-winning research centers, the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS) and the Purdue Water Institute (PWI). Computer Science (CS) offers a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree. Both degree programs are rapidly growing. The department consists of a high performing team of faculty and is expanding its curricular offerings including interdisciplinary areas and collaboration with local companies. CS has a robust presence in Artificial Intelligence research and education, with two research labs recently established, the Intelligent Systems and Collaborative Robotics Research Lab and the Advanced Intelligence Software Research Lab.
