Accounting Technician

The role of Accounting Technician will provide support to the Assistant Comptroller, other management, and professional staff who are responsible for Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Student Loan programs.  The Clerk will also manage document flow for the Assistant Comptroller that includes accounting documents, mailings/correspondence, office purchases, and invoice payments. There will also be a need to prepare budget analysis and reconciliations related to student loans and collection activity.  Other duties include assist in the collection of monies owed the University and perform customer service activities in support of Accounts Receivable and Collections. The Account Clerk will also provide back-up to critical functions in Accounts Receivable and Collections.  



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years accounting, accounts receivable, collections, banking, or other relevant fields.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement University policies and procedures
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes
  • Proficiency in software experience: Microsoft Word, Excel, Database and Outlook/Electronic Email



  • University-related experience
  • Knowledge of University Systems
  • Knowledge of Banner, SAP, or other A/R systems.
