Application Developer

Job Summary


This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Graduate School Database, which is a system of electronic workflow processes within the Graduate School, used by graduate students throughout the entire Purdue system.


Design, develop, test, implement and maintain new software applications. Analyze, modify, and maintain existing software applications. Provide training and ongoing support, including monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues. Develop and execute application test plans and scripts. Will collaborate with business analysts, client areas, and technical staff to identify and specify requirements for technical solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: developing and documenting technical requirements, programming, web development, and program testing
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience
  • Experience with some or all of the following technologies: HTML, JavaScript, PL/SQL, PHP
  • Knowledge of programming best practices




  • Web design experience with knowledge of design best practices
  • Experience developing sites using Oracle databases and PL/SQL packages
