Assistant Professor One Health

Job Summary

One-Health Epidemiologist, Academic Year (9-month), tenure track Assistant professor in the Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB) at the Purdue University-College of Veterinary Medicine.

Requirements

DVM (or equivalent degree) and a Ph.D. or Dr. PH in public health/one health/epidemiology field are required.  

Responsibilities
    • It is expected that approximately 60-70% of the person’s time will be dedicated to research and 30-40% teaching. The successful applicant will establish an interdisciplinary and externally-funded research program in an area related to one health such as zoonoses, environmental epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, infectious disease epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, syndromic/disease surveillance, disease modeling, animal welfare, the human-animal bond, or comparative medicine. 
    • This individual will have a leadership role in enhancing, implementing, and coordinating a Public Health curriculum for Veterinary and Veterinary Nursing students and will contribute to the graduate program in epidemiology by offering a graduate course or field experiences in their area of expertise. 
    • The successful candidate will mentor MS, Ph.D., and MPH students.
