Director of Industry Engagement

As the Director of Industry Engagement you will support the Industry Engagement activities of the Computer and Information Technology and Computer Graphics Technology Departments. You will serve as point of contact for the two departments with companies for student work experience, capstone project acquisition, and student placement.  Additionally, you will participate and/or lead teams across the college and/or University around internships and student placement. You will also work with the Center for Career Opportunities to manage relationships and expedite events. 
 

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise the coordination of events and travel as related to industry engagement.
  • Facilitate the annual Polytechnic Computing Career Fair. 
  • Interact with students to market events.  
  • Maintain databases, websites, social media, and portals related to the above activities.  
  • Maintain event calendars and work with Polytechnic Marketing and Communications as needed to develop advertising materials.  
  • Ensure the timely distribution of event announcements/publications, necessary materials.


Required:

  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing, engineering, information technology and related
  • Four years of professional experience in the engagement industry with experience in partnerships, including two years related managerial experience  
  • Proven experience in planning and executing both small and large-scale events 
  • Ability to professionally plan, execute, and manage relationships with students, faculty, industry, government, and community constituents
  • Ability to organize and execute events with numerous participants 
  • Develop and maintain databases, presentations, and marketing/communications content
  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 
  • Ability to work comfortably and effectively in independent and group scenarios on various initiatives 
  • Generate and maintain social media and website content, including events calendar


Preferred:

  • Industry related engagement or event planning
