Graduate Professional

Job Summary

The Graduate Administrative Professional (GAP) is a half-time (20 hours per week) appointment, requiring evening and weekend responsibilities in Student Activities and Organizations (SAO) and it carries a stipend and tuition remission. The position begins August 24, 2020 and is a 10 month appointment. Duties: This GAP position works closely with the Student Fee Advisor Board, the Purdue Student Government Treasurer, and the Business Office for Student Organizations; review and approve expenditures, prepare spreadsheets for board meetings, and prepare appeals for review; review activity planning forms and prepare reports on student fee spending and savings; presentations, event consultations, student organization meetings, and office coverage; interact with students on a one-on-one, group, and presentation basis in advising and guiding their decisions in regards to fee funds and student organization events. Required Qualifications: Earned Bachelor’s degree and admission into a Purdue University graduate program; Experience with an interest in student organizations and co-curricular development; Superior interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written; A passion for working with, advising, and engaging students; Be team oriented, willing to take initiative, and learn on the job; Computer proficiency—basic knowledge of Excel, Qualtrics, Outlook. Preferred Qualifications: Student organization experience as an undergraduate; Superior knowledge in Excel.
