Grounds Mechanic - Golf Course

Job Summary

The Sr. Grounds Mechanic of the golf course is a seasoned individual possessing the skill, knowledge and experience being responsible for all equipment repair/maintenance for the department. In this role, you must be able to record and track all work for each piece of equipment and be able to provide guidance to management for financial decisions as well as have the technical training and/or experience in order to diagnose and troubleshoot multiple malfunctions of the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system including a variety of diesel and conventional engines. You will provide communication, training and guidance for equipment maintenance and operation to all equipment operators within the department and be able to communicate with parties internal and external to the department for matters of diagnosis, repair and purchase.  In addition, you will promote safety within the workplace and perform a variety of other cleaning and maintenance duties as needed.

Required:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 4 years of experience in the Mechanics field of work
  • Ability to work independently and within a group setting
  • Must have computer knowledge for equipment record keeping
  • Must have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on facts, priorities, resources, constraints and alternatives
  • Must have working knowledge and experiences with small engine repair and diagnostics
  • Ability to troubleshoot /repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems of Greens Industry equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry objects over fifty pounds and work in confined spaces
  • Valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license

Preferred:

  • A mechanics trade certificate
