Health & Kinesiology Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Health & Kinesiology at Purdue University seeks applicants for an academic-year (9-month) tenure track faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor) in the broad areas of rehabilitation or regeneration to begin Fall 2020. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Health & Kinesiology or a related field (for example, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, etc.), have appropriate postdoctoral experience, and show evidence of scholarship in the area of rehabilitation/regeneration (broadly defined). An independent line of research with evidence of successful extramural federal funding is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to and expand our nationally recognized program and federally funded research portfolio through scholarly activity, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, advising students, and serving on departmental, college and/or university committees. There are ample opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations within the department, the College of Health and Human Sciences, and campus-wide emphasis areas (e.g. imaging and engineering). Professional collaborative opportunities and pilot funding also exist within the NIH-supported Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (www.indianactsi.org); the A.H. Ismail Center for Health, Exercise, and Nutrition (http://www.purdue.edu/hhs/hk/ismail/); Discovery Park (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/), the Cooperative Extension Programs of Health and Human Sciences (http://www.purdue.edu/hhs/extension/); and over 100 Centers at Purdue (http://www.purdue.edu/research/centers-institutes-cores/list.php). The Department of Health & Kinesiology is one of nine units in the College of Health & Human Sciences and is home to over 500 undergraduate students and 50 graduate students.
