International Post Award Business Manager-FSIL

Job Summary

Purdue University is looking the fill the position of International Post Award Business Manager. As the business manager duties will include fiscally managing externally sponsored grant awards as well as foreign and domestic sub-awards for complex international programs across multiple university areas.  Primary focus will be to provide post award fiscal oversight for a large multi-year award funded by the United States Agency for International Development. (Food Safety Innovation Lab)

 

This position will also ensure that projects are compliant with USAID award provisions; prepare and review project financial reports; serve as University liaison for communication with sponsor; and provide guidance to several domestic and international partners that receive funding from the University.  Meet University account management expectations; monitor sub recipients, risk assessment and adherence to University policies. 

 

There will also be a need for the International Post Award Business Manager to collaborate with Business Management staff, Project Directors and other University personnel to support overall administrative needs of the project including human resources/payroll, procurement/accounts payable as well as foreign and domestic travel. Provide proper interpretation of University, federal and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.  Resolve complex issues with little precedence.
 

 

  • This position represents a part-time position 50% FTE - 20 hours/week.  Benefits do apply
  • This position has a limited duration of 3.5 years with continuation dependent upon additional grant funding. Benefits do apply 

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 2 years of business administration, financial management, or related experience
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures  
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management and customer service skills
  • Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels  
  • Able to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes teamwork to successfully guide the work of others 
  • Proficiency with personal computer and related software skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion  

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of foreign exchange rate and currencies
