In this overnight role, you will provide both facilities and customer support across the Purdue Libraries system. Key responsibilities include:
Monitoring entrances and exits, routinely circulating through library spaces to maintain order and assist visitors, students, and staff.
Documenting and submitting nightly building counts and incident reports—including any security irregularities or police involvement—to Building Directors.
Responding to inquiries at the Information Desk, both in person and online, by checking out materials, answering questions, and providing digital reference support as needed.
Respectfully addressing rule infractions and explaining Purdue Library’s standards of acceptable behavior.
Reporting facilities issues—such as damage or maintenance needs—by submitting work requests with detailed documentation. You may also assist with minor repairs in coordination with the Libraries Facilities team.
Initiating emergency response by contacting police, fire, or other first responders when necessary, and reporting suspicious activities as directed.
Supporting overnight 3D printing operations by coordinating with daytime staff, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting faculty on projects.
This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, safety, and facility upkeep during overnight hours.
Please note: This is an hourly position with a pay range of $15.00 to $19.90 per hour.

What We Are Looking For :
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- High school diploma/GED
Three (3) years’ relevant work experience required.
Skills needed:
- Good communications skills.
Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft, Word, and Excel.
Comfort learning new software and dealing with 3D printers.
Also 3D printing experience a plus.
