Job Title:  Program Director PVM - Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Director will provide research and teaching support, curriculum assistance, and guidance to the Assistant Dean of Diversity and Inclusion. The Program Director will work collaboratively with the ODEI team and other internal and external institutional partners to support the DEI strategic initiatives and ongoing and emerging needs reflected in the college of veterinary medicine. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion and a proven track record of delivering successful programming to a diverse audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the development and delivery of diversity and inclusion programming/content to the College of Veterinary Medicine with the Assistant Dean of Inclusive Excellence
  • Serving as the lead for providing DEI instruction to the Veterinary Nursing program
  • Developing and maintaining website content for the Office of Diversity
  • Serve as the lead of the PVM veterinary diversity, equity, and inclusion certificate program
  • Assisting with curriculum development and implementation of the diversity and inclusion certificate program and acts as the registrar for future and current participants and certificate holders
  • Delivering and designing social media content and marketing materials for all Office of Diversity programming and events
  • Coordinating efforts to promote grant proposal development with emphasis on institutional activities to support the scholarship of research, teaching, and engagement components
  • Developing an ongoing communication plan/tracking system for all prospective students interested in the DVM/Vet Med program met during recruitment events
  • Assist in the development of retention practices for students served by the DEI office
  • Assisting with the ODI summer programming as needed
  • Representing ODI at selected PVM meetings and events
  • Assisting with administrative processes for the faculty and staff excellence award in diversity, the NCORE professional development series, and all other ODI annual programming/national awards submissions
  • Collecting all SEL (Student Experiential Learning) materials for student participation

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of related experience with focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (research, writing, editing, presentation and speaking)
  • Diversity and Inclusion Training
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals with a diverse range of disciplinary backgrounds
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments
  • Evidence of participation in proposal development for grant applications for external funding
  • Verbal and written communication skills with a variety of age groups
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information
  • Strong analytical skills; organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strict attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree, with a focus in Higher Education or Social Sciences equivalent
  • Experience in a well-established diversity program that includes active expansion of planning and delivering diversity initiatives
