Grant Writer

Job Summary

As Proposal Coordinator, you will work with faculty proposal development teams across the campus in the writing and editing of large-scale, interdisciplinary research and programmatic proposals, as well as single investigator proposals, and will facilitate overall grant writing strategies and processes.


  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications,  Sciences, Engineering or closely related field
  • Three years of general writing experience
  • Strong portfolio of writing and editing for both scientific and lay audience
  • Ability to understand broad content of proposed research, articulate a compelling project rationale, and establish timelines and best practices for particular research proposal
  • Ability to strategize with teams, function as an integral member of the proposal team, express ideas clearly and effectively, attend to details, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment that sometimes requires variable hours
  • Ability to work within the mission and focus of research sponsors and of all requirements of specific grant competitions


  • Experience in science and technology fields and grant writing 
  • Experience facilitating teams
