Teacher Assistant
Job Summary
Serve as Teacher Assistant for Ben and Maxine Miller Child Development Laboratory School, interacting with and teaching children. Assist teachers with birth to 5-year-old children. Set up and clean up art activities, snacks, and lunches. Serve as nap time attendant and assist classroom teachers with children's activities.
What you will be doing:
- Assist teacher with the daily routine of the classroom including indoor activities
- Outside recess, and Teacher directed small/large group supervision.
- Prepare and set up classroom
- Clean up curriculum activities in the classroom environment such as painting, distributing books, etc
- Assist in displaying children’s work
- Attend children during their nap time, assist in set up and removal of cots, and assist children in dressing and bathroom routines as needed.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of children's development; manage groups of children
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED
- Candidates must be 21 years or older.
- This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test and a health assessment as well as running a criminal history background check.
- Good verbal communication, ability to work with children
What we desire:
- Child Development Associates (CDA) or equivalent

- Pay will be 15.00 an hour
