Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in the Fall semester of 2026. We seek outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science and Information Systems. Candidates with expertise in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are especially encouraged to apply.

PFW is the largest university in northeast Indiana. The Computer Science department has 11 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, 3 full-time lecturers, and more than 400 students across four undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department is ABET-accredited in the BS in Computer Science.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field by the start of the Fall 2026 semester. Applicants should demonstrate a strong record of teaching effectiveness and research productivity aligned with the Department's mission. While the search is open to all areas of CS and IS, expertise in Software Engineering or AI is particularly welcomed.

Job Responsibilities

A typical appointment includes teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Computer Science and Information Systems, conducting scholarly research, mentoring students, and collaborating with the business community. Service to and engagement with the Department, University, and community are also required.

Three letters of recommendation will be required for finalists. Candidates invited to interview on campus will be required to deliver a 45- to 60-minute instructional student presentation and a 45- to 60-minute research presentation.
