Job Summary:

Purdue University Global offers term by term, non-tenured teaching appointments

Our Opportunity:

The mission of the on-site, part-time adjunct Cybersecurity and Information
Technology Instructor, regardless of the curriculum, is to provide the student(s),
with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the
field of their chosen program of study. To accomplish this mission, all instructors
will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent team
effort under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education/ Dean/
Program Chair, or his or her designee.

Successful candidates in this role will reside in the Vandenberg Space Force
Base area or within a commutable distance. A Master’s in Cybersecurity or
Information Technology is required.

What to expect in this role:

  • Provide an engaging learning environment by hands-on activities and with open and timely communication.
  • Provide a strong online presence through an engaging online learning environment if the course must be changed to a hybrid delivery model (instructor streaming to students in a virtual environment).
  •  Provide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellence.
  • Partner with advisors and leadership on student concerns, resolution, retention, and outcomes.
  • Participate in institutional assessment and curriculum review.
  • Remain current with trends, techniques, and technology.
  •  Maintenance of a professional development plan.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned by the school.

What we’re looking for:

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology required; Doctorate or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum two years related Cybersecurity or Information Technology experience and/or training is required.
  • Active, CompTIA Security + or CompTIA Network + is preferred.
  • Experience with Brightspace learning management system (LMS) is preferred.
  • Higher education teaching experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional computer skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  •  Adjunct compensation varies per course based on student enrollment, program type and also includes a contribution to a retirement account. Atypical adjunct in the School of Business and IT can expect to receive $2200-$2600 per full 10-week course, per term. Retirement account benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3% and a company match up to an additional 4% with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
