University Global students through the clinical placement program.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Clinical Student Support oversees the duties of a group of Clinical
Student Managers which includes communicating expectations related to clinical placement to
students, following the progress of the students throughout their clinical placement process, and
being the primary contact regarding clinical placement for the assigned Clinical Student
Managers. This role supports team needs as related to training, quality control and leadership.
The expectation is that the Senior Manager, Clinical Student Support contributes problem
solving, team building, and escalated items towards team goals.


The Senior Manager, Clinical Student Support serves as the supervisory point of contact and
escalation point for student concerns and clinical placement issues. This role also assists with
developing and implementing improvement projects. This role collaborates with other Senior
Managers, Clinical Student Support to ensure consistent processes, quality standards, and
student outcomes across programs.

What to expect in this role:

● Leadership, Teambuilding, and Training Responsibilities:
          ○ Serve as the subject matter expert on nuances of nursing program speciality
             areas. Lead by example, be available when needed, and provide guidance and
             assistance to CSM professionals or support employees.
          ○ Collaborate with Academic Operations in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new
             clinical team members.
          ○ Assist in creating an inspiring team environment with open communication.
             Suggest and organize team building activities.
          ○ Assist with day-to-day problem solving, conducts regular team meetings and
             one-on-ones, ensures the quality of placements, and that all processes are followed.
          ○ Deploy team resources (including self), delegate tasks, and set deadlines.
          ○ Maintain SOPs and student facing resources in collaboration with the Senior
             Manager of Clinical Support Services.
          ○ Manage team workflow, to optimize processes and resource allocation to
             maximize efficiency and meet project milestones.

● Student Escalations & CSM Workflow:
          ○ Coverage of Clinical Student Manager workflow may be needed occasionally
             when team members are unavailable.
          ○ Assist with resolving student escalations related to clinical placement concerns,
             serving as a reliable point of contact for addressing and mitigating issues.

          ○ Use effective communication and conflict resolution skills to engage with
             students, understanding their concerns and providing timely and constructive
             solutions.

● Project Management: Provide input into strategic, operational, and administrative projects.
● Support Clinical Placement Team with operational administrative tasks as directed by
   business needs and other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Master’s Degree; Healthcare, Higher Education, or similar program and/or comparable
   experience.
● Minimum 2-3 years related experience working with third party sites, agencies,
   businesses, or partnerships; 4-5 years preferred.
● Leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience in a higher ed institution is strongly preferred.
● Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum
   education requirements.

● Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and
   Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat and Meet.
● Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be comfortable spending an
   extensive amount of time talking on the phone and using various methods of
   communication to accomplish goals.
● Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
● Must be an organized self-starter and able to work with little direct supervision.
● Ability to work effectively with various levels within and external to the university,
   including but not limited to the Nursing Clinical team, Legal, and clinical site
   coordinators.
● Capable of building strong working relationships across teams, departments and Schools.
● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional
   demeanor with people at all levels within the organization.
● Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
● Demonstrated leadership with a proven ability to train and motivate.

  • The target salary for this position is $75,000.
