Job Summary:

The Senior Nursing Regulatory Specialist is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and
analyzing nursing regulations at the state and federal level. This role ensures that the School of
Nursing and program practices comply with these standards and identify potential compliance
concerns.


Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Initiatives, the Senior Nursing Regulatory
Specialist assists in developing School of Nursing policies that reflect nursing regulatory best
practices and works closely with the School of Nursing administration to ensure compliance and
provide guidance on regulatory issues.

What to expect in this role:

● Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
     ○ Ensures compliant and timely submission of relevant board of nursing application
        & compliance report materials.
     ○ Proactively monitors, interprets, and analyzes nursing regulations at the state
       and federal level.
     ○ Conducts annual review of board of nursing regulation to ensure continued
        program compliance and identifies potential compliance concerns
     ○ Assists with the assessment of School of Nursing initiatives that require nursing
       regulatory approvals and helps prioritize the work stream to obtain those approvals

● Policy Development & Regulatory Alignment:
     ○ Reviews and assesses institutional implications of proposed nursing regulations,
        presents analysis to leaders, and proposes solutions to School of Nursing operations.
     ○ Takes initiative to collaborate with nursing program leadership, faculty, and staff
        to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements.
     ○ Provides guidance to School of Nursing administration on regulatory issues and
        compliance strategy.
     ○ Assists in developing School of Nursing policies that reflect nursing regulatory
        best practices.

● Cross-Functional Compliance Collaboration:
     ○ Collaborates with the University’s regulatory analyst to support University-wide
        education compliance
     ○ Prepare compliance related internal communications.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required), with a strong preference for Master's Degree
   in Nursing (preferred) or Master’s Degree in a Related Field
● Active, unencumbered RN license
● 4-5 years related experience with 2+ years of work experience in a federal/state
   regulated environment
● Experience in higher education licensing or accreditation preferred
● Experience with industry processes and existing business regulations required.

● Effective analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues or make
   recommendations as appropriate.

   demeanor with people at all levels within the organization.
● Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
● Ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects within aggressive timelines and
   shifting priorities, especially when managing activities of those who are not direct reports.
● Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in developing, implementing, and interpreting
   policies and procedures.
● Capable of building strong working relationships across teams, departments and Schools.

Additional Information:

● The target salary for this position is $90,000.
● Purdue University Global will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.
