Job Summary

As the Airman Certification Representative (ACR), this position will complete administrative paperwork for the issuance of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates within the Professional Flight Program for FAA approved Part 141 flight training. ACR duties include working with the Chief Instructor and the Flight Schedule Coordinator for Flight Practical Exam paperwork processing, conducting flight logbook audits to validate completion of 141 Training Course Outline (TCO), working with Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs) and/or Training Course Evaluators (TCE) for end of course assessment processing and events as required. This person may provide backup support to the Flight Schedule Coordinator with stage check and practical test scheduling and coordination of DPEs and Stage Check instructors as necessary, and other duties as assigned. This is a paperwork and processing position that will utilize several FAA and Purdue portals to review the logbooks of students, complete paperwork to produce a pilot certificate, and issue that certificate to the students in Purdue’s Professional Flight Program. The basic sequence of activities are the student and instructor conduct the training, the examiner conducts a practical exam and determines whether the student is satisfactory or unsatisfactory, the ACR completes the paperwork with the associated results of the practical exam, and if the student is successful the ACR will issue a pilot certificate to the student. This process is audited by the FAA on a periodic basis for thoroughness and accuracy.

What We Are Looking For :

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Four (4) years of experience
  • Read, write, and speak the English language with ICAO Level 4 pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and interactions. 
  • At least 23 years old 
  • Must hold (or be able to obtain within 6 months of start date) a valid pilot certificate (other than student pilot), valid ground instructor, certificate, or valid flight instructor certificate

  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must represent the university with professionalism, dependability, tact, and diplomacy at all levels. 
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel, as business need dictates

 

Nice to have:
Experience within the aviation industry and the FAA certification process for airman.
