The IT Operational Excellence Manager is a recognized master in their professional discipline that is responsible for designing and overseeing Purdue IT’s strategic planning to coordinate engagement of stakeholders, end users, and external parties for the most complex systems processes. Understands business needs, align with existing services to meet existing needs, identify gaps, risks, and financial impacts. Collaborates with technical resources to recommend new services and/or processes and drive process change by integrating new processes with existing ones. 

With mastery level knowledge, leads the operational excellence management program and processes within to ensure alignment of IT services and projects to strategic goals, stakeholder needs, and resource capacity. Improve information/knowledge sharing and collaborative problem solving. You will promote ITs operational excellence by leading the implementation of process-related policies, standards, governance, and methodologies to enable the business to adopt a process culture. Oversee and manage ISO certification processes to obtain and maintain compliance with appropriate ISO certification standards. Manages ITIL compliance. This position will be responsible for leading and executing continuous improvement initiatives as well as working closely with cross-functional teams to drive process enhancements, optimize operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, project management, data analytics, or related field
  • Minimum of 8-9 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, ISO Management and Compliance, Strategic Technology Planning, or a related field

 

Preferred 

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, ISO auditor, and/or ITIL
  • Experience in higher education environment 
  • PMP or Project management experience


Skills Needed:

  • Strong understanding of technology and IT services
  • Experience with ISO and ITIL
  • Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects
  • Demonstrated:
    • project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components
    • proficiency with analytical software and utilization of continuous monitoring processes/technologies 
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and customer service skills
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes
  • Ability to:
    • utilize continuous monitoring skills and data to identify areas of high risk and substantial business impact
    • productively contribute to cross-functional teams
    • analyze a situation when limited information exists
    • influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels 
    • understand, prepare analysis, and present data according to user requirements
