Job Summary

The Industry Partner Relationship Manager supports the team strategy of managing, executing and enhancing new and existing industry partnership, engagement development and proposal support for experiential learning, recruitment, talent development, and investment opportunities with Purdue’s School of Business. This position cultivates relationships with key stakeholders (industry partners, Purdue faculty and staff, vendors/agencies), works directly with corporate clients to execute partner engagements, and upholds the integrity of the Daniels School of Business through exceptional client support and professionalism.

 

The Industry Partner Relationship Manager reports to the Director of the Partnerships Office and supports the development and implementation of the industry engagement strategic plan for the School of Business primarily through proactive stakeholder engagement, issue management and professional communication.

Required:

  • BA/BS required
  • Three (3) years of professional experience within business development, project management, public relations or marketing
  • Must have experience working in a corporate setting; must be comfortable working with executives
  • Must have ability to travel for weekly meetings and events to/from West Lafayette, Indiana with potential for national travel annually
  • Experience planning and executing professional sales calls or meetings.
  • Must have experience working in a corporate setting and be comfortable working with executives.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Previous experience with program and project management
  • Superior customer relationship and account management skills
  • Adept at building collaborative and trusted relationships at varying levels of leadership
  • Strong ability to execute responsibilities within an ambiguous and autonomous work environment
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized    
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects with tight timelines and limited supervision 
  • Maintains grace under pressure and professionalism to meet client needs/demands 
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Excellent listening skills

 

Preferred: 

  • MS/MBA degree
  • 5+ years of experience, within business development, project management, public relations or marketing
  • 1+ years of experience with CRM platforms, ideally Salesforce
