Job Summary
The Senior Bioprocess Engineering Research Scientist will be responsible for research related to bioprocess engineering in food, bioenergy, and bioproducts. You will design and conduct research experiments based on research objectives for funded research in bioprocess engineering and decide next course of action based on results. You will conduct new experiments on your own initiative, collaborate with investigators on the development of research plans and grant proposals and prepare oral and written communication including reports to sponsors, or conference papers and presentations. In addition, you will author and co-author scientific technical papers for publication and oversee service staff, undergraduate or graduate students concerning research on day-to-day basis.
What We're Looking For:
- Master’s degree in biochemistry, biological engineering, chemical engineering, or similar fields
- 2 years of experience in bioprocessing engineering research
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to work with people of various backgrounds
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to changing research environments
- Ability to work with undergraduate and graduate students and faculty to conduct research in bioprocessing, biotechnology, and technology development
Nice to Have:
- Experience obtaining extramural funding to support their research endeavors
