Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled undergraduate student to join our research team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will assist with various aspects of molecular biology, biochemistry, and mice handling within our laboratory setting. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to cutting-edge research in the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the care and handling of laboratory mice, including monitoring health status, administering treatments, and performing basic husbandry tasks.
• Perform laboratory experiments following established protocols under the supervision of senior researchers.
• Assist in the preparation of reagents, solutions, and culture media required for experiments.
• Conduct molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, and DNA cloning, enzyme assays, and Western blotting.
• Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
• Assist in data analysis and interpretation, including basic statistical analysis if necessary.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members, providing support and assistance as needed.
• Participate in laboratory meetings, discussions, and training sessions to enhance scientific knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student majoring in a relevant field such as biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related techniques.
• Experience with mice handling and husbandry preferred.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and techniques, including pipetting, centrifugation, and sterile technique.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to experimental protocols and safety guidelines.
