Job Summary

The Purdue University Baseball Student Manager Program allows Purdue students to gain experience working for a Division 1 Big 10 baseball program. Managers are tasked with a wide range of responsibilities that are critical to the success and progress of the baseball program. They will work in conjunction with the Purdue Baseball Coaches to enhance both the experience and development of the Purdue Baseball Players. All departments play a significant role in helping the program become Omaha bound. Below, you will find more information on the current positions we are trying to fill.

 

 

 

Basic Skills/Qualifications:

General baseball knowledge and a love for the game itself. Looking for a career in baseball.

Ability to interact and communicate well with players, coaches, and other managers.

Play a significant role in providing coaching staff and players with information and data from practice.

Thrive in fast-paced environments and manage time/multi-task well.

Willingness to learn and consistently improve.

Play a significant role during practices, scrimmages, and games. 

Perform any duties given to you by coaches.

Attend practice regularly

Responsibilities

Job #1 -Video & Scouting/On-Field Manager:

  • Knowledge of basic use of handheld cameras, Ipad’s and other electronic devices.
  • Operate Trackman, Rapsodo, and Synergy
  • Setup/Tear-down the camera setups used during practices and games.
  • Create metric overlay videos for player and coach analysis.
  • Cut/Upload video from practice, home games & road games to storage

Job #2 - On-Field Manager:

  • Pay attention to practice and game plans.
  • Setup/Tear-down the setups used during practices and games.
  • Create a positive environment for coaches and players.
  • Make sure the program runs consistently and efficiently

Job #3 - Bullpen Catcher/On-Field Manager:                  

  • High School catching experience is REQUIRED!
  • Can handle 90+ MPH movement on pitches.
  • Work close with Purdue Baseball Pitching Coach to catch bullpens and assist in pitching practice setup.
  • Pay attention to practice and game plans.
  • Setup/Tear-down the setups used during practices and games.
  • Create a positive environment for coaches and players.
  • Make sure the program runs consistently and efficiently.
