Job Summary

The School of Engineering Education at Purdue University invites applications for multiple Visiting Assistant Professors. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in engineering education research ranging from pre-kindergarten through college and into engineering practice.

 

Candidates must have a PhD, with at least one degree in engineering, education, or a related field. The Visiting Assistant Professor will primarily teach in the first-year engineering (FYE) program, which includes two foundational courses: ENGR 131 - Transforming Ideas to Innovation I, and, ENGR 132 - Transforming Ideas to Innovation II, which focus on the engineering design cycle and programming languages, specifically MATLAB.  Based on enrollment needs, the Visiting Assistant Professor may teach other courses in the FYE program or in the multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary (MDE/IDE) program.  The teaching load will be two courses in each of the academic year semesters.  Other responsibilities may include pursuing an independent research program of the candidate's interests and other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Expertise in engineering education research ranging from pre-kindergarten through college and into engineering practice.

 

Education:

  • Successful candidates must have a PhD, with at least one degree in engineering, education, or a related field.
