Job Summary
The John Martinson Honors College seeks a candidate with interest and experience in leadership development and community engagement for a position as Lecturer and Assistant Director for Lead Forward. Primary responsibilities include working in a small team to continue development and delivery of a new, innovative program called Lead Forward, which promotes the capacity of undergraduate honors students for social change leadership. This is a continuing, 9-month AY salaried position, with a start date of August 12, 2024, or earlier if available.
Experience
Strong teaching skills are essential for the position. The successful candidate will have experience promoting leadership and community engagement skills through various teaching strategies, such as those related to experiential learning, applied learning, service learning, and/or community-based learning. Experience with leadership frameworks commonly taught to undergraduate students, such as the social change leadership model, is desired. The successful candidate will also have experience and skills related to program administration, such as planning and delivering events or other educational activities outside of the classroom.
Education
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in any field. Education in a field with emphasis on engagement, applied learning, and/or social issues would be favorable.
