Job Summary
The Assistant Director of the Business Communication Center will work with the Center Director, administrative staff, and student interns to support, implement, contribute, and coordinate case competition initiatives that enhance experiential learning activities and to foster connections with industry partners. This position will develop evaluation criteria and rubrics to assess student performance in case competitions and collect and analyze feedback and other data. Serve as a liaison between the Center and other stakeholders while building and maintaining relationships with business leaders and organizations to support the Center. This role will promote professional development workshops and maintain and update the Center’s website as well.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Higher Education, or a related discipline
- 4 years of professional work experience in higher education or corporate setting, event planning, and/or program management
- Think strategically and creatively, solve problems, plan events, manage projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Be self-motivated and collaborative, working independently and as part of a team
- Express themselves with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- interacting comfortably, effectively, and professionally with diverse groups of students, faculty, professionals, staff, and industry partners writing correspondence, rubrics, materials, and reports on behalf of the Center
- presenting effectively and comfortably to large and small groups, both in-person and online
- Adeptly use technology: for example, Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Google software applications (i.e., Docs, Sheets, Slides), other presentation tools (e.g., Canva, Tableau, etc.), survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey), and other planning tools
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business communication and education; participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Business, Communication, Higher Education, or a related discipline
- experience with case and/or pitch competitions
