Job Summary

The Lead Project Manager for Administrative Operations (AO), Purdue in Indianapolis, is a subject matter expert that provides support to leadership to plan, develop, maintain, and operate Purdue in Indianapolis. This position is responsible for achieving the day-to-day objectives required to successfully launch and support Purdue University’s first comprehensive urban campus by creating a fully integrated extension of the West Lafayette campus experience.  As the Lead Project Manager will serve as a multi-functional professional staff creating organization, documentation and program management for Purdue in Indianapolis facilities and operations including campus planning, capital construction and renovation, safety and security, parking, transportation, space infrastructure, lease agreements, and other contracts required for successful operations of Purdue in Indianapolis.  You will be responsible for assisting in the development standard operating procedures, reports, key deliverables, and project plans for the delivery and management of services required to meet the needs of faculty and staff in support of Purdue’s mission of learning, discovery, and engagement while providing high-quality customer service.  

 

This position is located in Indianapolis at the new Purdue campus.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited college or university with at least a bachelor’s degree in business, project management, communication, operations, public administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in project management, program administration, facility operations, and/or contract management

 

Preferred:

  • Higher education experience 

 

Skills Needed:

  • Thorough knowledge of project management, contract management, and report writing
  • Knowledge of infrastructure/facilities planning, design and construction, performance measurement, and financial management
  • Must be a strong contributor with analytical, organizational, management, problem-solving and strong interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships and build mutual trust and respect with others and maintain them over time
  • Must have a high standard of integrity, performance, and professional behavior
