About the Assistant or Associate Professor Position
The primary responsibilities will be to conduct scholarly research, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in course/curriculum development, and provide service to the Daniels School of Business, the University, and the Economics academic community.
We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and deepen our existing strengths. Candidates should have substantive research in a key sub-discipline within economics, such as econometrics, macroeconomics, international trade, industrial organization, labor economics or mathematical and quantitative methods. Purdue’s strengths in STEM and particularly engineering are also points of emphasis with topical foci including research and development, product and technological innovation, technological adoption and diffusion and their roles in economic growth, labor markets and the structure of industry. Emphasis and outward-facing communication on the public policy implications of these topics is also desirable.
Requirements and Application Instructions
Positions require a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field by the position start date. Candidates must have an established track record of peer-reviewed publications in premier scholarly journals, the potential to collaborate with scholars and Ph.D. students in the DSB, and demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence.
