Job Title:  Athletics Facilities Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary

 

Direct supervision of multi-shift custodial staff to maintain cleanliness of athletics facilities, including locker rooms, public areas, premium spaces, student-athlete dining facility and public golf course facilities.  Facilitate training for staff on safety procedures, standard operating procedures, new products and new equipment.  Work with superintendent in developing and tracking budgets for multiple facilities and operations.  Participate in the preparation of facilities for various athletic and special events.


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience in work allocation and assignment for staff, routine upkeep and operations project coordination and planning, and familiarity with event set-up planning, experience with maintaining multiple facilities simultaneously                
  • Must be able to read, interpret, communicate, and effectively adhere to Purdue University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA rules, regulations, and guidelines. Knowledge of leading routine facility maintenance and facility maintenance  projects.  
  • ‎Ability to effectively communicate with coaches, administrators, and staff; ability to plan and organize work ‎to meet established deadlines.  
  • Must be able to demonstrate planning, problem-solving,  project management, quality control, data collection, public relations, and excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.  
  • Must be able to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes teamwork principles to successfully guide the work of others.  
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting maintenance processes.  
  • Personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheet,  Internet, etc., necessary. 
  • A valid Indiana driver license
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with sport facilities
