Job Description
The primary role of the BCC Student Ambassador position is customer service . The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a cultural center environment. This position should work 10 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The BCC Student Ambassador position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
Prerequisite(s)
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in customer service.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue Global
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
- Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Be timely and organized
Position Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities
- Answer the telephone and record messages for staff
- Serve as a resource for information for all students and visitors of the BCC
- Keep the main desk area and the circulation desk in the library clean and tidy
- Greet all visitors as they enter the building and ensure that they sign in to the building using the visitor management system.
- Conduct tours of the building for our visitors
- Represent the BCC or staff tabling events or panels around campus.
- Monitor activity in the center by making at least two rounds during your shift
- Perform tasks and projects assigned by BCC staff members in a thorough manner by all stated deadlines
- Assist with room set up, take down, and clean up
- Actively participate in and attend BCC sponsored programs and events
- Assist with staffing special events
- Complete projects assigned to you by your supervisor accurately and on time
- Maintain high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility
- Maintain safety and risk management standards of the department
- Perform daily upkeep of supplies throughout the facility
- Exhibit friendliness, diplomacy, and tact in responding to customers
- Handle emergency situations and prioritize responsibilities while continuing to provide the highest level of customer service
- Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information
- Responsible for all scheduled shifts (based on class/exam schedules for the semester)
- Other duties as assigned
