Job Summary

 

North Central Nursing Clinics (NCNC) is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) providing access to high-quality primary healthcare services for communities surrounding Burlington, Delphi, Monon, and Wolcott.  

 

Under the supervision of, and in collaboration with, the NCNC Medical Director, the Behavioral Health Therapist 
is responsible for providing standardized counseling/talk therapy, for NCNC’s patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions and/or substance abuse in an integrated model of care. The Behavioral Health Therapist will provide behavioral health consultation to children, adolescents, adults and families to improve psychosocial functioning. 

 

**This position will be primarily located in the Delphi clinic.**

 

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Counseling or other related field 
  • Must have a verified license to practice in the state of Indiana as well as a completed background check. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for mental conditions. 
  • Ability to work through brief patient contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
  • Comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Good knowledge of psycho-pharmacology.  
  • A professional at all times.  
  • Must demonstrate tact, patience and excellent oral and written communication skills in dealing with patients, peers and external partners.  
  • Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must possess the ability to cope with complex situations in a professional manner. 
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality. Must comply with all HIPAA rules. Plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including using appropriate judgment. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work appropriately. 

 

Preferred:

  • Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently strongly
